Vacancy for Archive Technology Manager at BFI

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Archive Technology Manager to join our team at the BFI National Archive's Conservation Centre in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall leadership and management for the equipment and technology required by the BFI National Archive in delivering its objectives of care and access to the collections.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of multi-disciplined engineers to maintain equipment, research and innovate, implement new technologies and equipment, and ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
  • Developing and implementing knowledge management strategies to ensure robust knowledge management and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Data and Digital Preservation to support the maintenance and development of the BFI National Archive's systems and operational network for digital preservation and access.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digitization and post-production systems, with experience in planning, supervising, and delivering major engineering/technology services. They will also have excellent knowledge management and collaboration skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
