We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Anaesthetic Consultant to join our Department of Anaesthetics with a special interest in Pain Management. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12 months of advanced pain training or equivalent and be on the GMC Specialist register.
The Anaesthetic department offers anaesthetic services across a wide range of surgical specialties, including trauma and orthopaedics, ophthalmology, urology, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, regional anaesthesia and perioperative medicine. The ideal candidate will have experience and documented competence in one or more of these specialist areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to patients, as well as contributing to the development of the department's strategic direction. They will work closely with other medical, professional and managerial colleagues to provide excellent patient care and make a positive impact on the Trust's services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality anaesthetic services to patients
- Contribute to the development of the department's strategic direction
- Work closely with other medical, professional and managerial colleagues to provide excellent patient care
- Develop personal interests in areas such as management, research, governance, perioperative medicine, long-term vascular access and medical education
- MB BS (or equivalent)
- Registered with GMC
- On the specialist register, or within 6 months of acquiring CCT
- 12 months of advanced pain training
- FFPMRCA
- ALS/APLS/ATLS or NLS provider or instructor
- Additional complimentary postgraduate qualification
- Additional graduate or intercalated degree
This is a permanent full-time position, with a salary of £105,504 to £139,882 per annum/pro rata. The successful candidate will be based at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust - Cross site.
The Trust provides general hospital services to a population of approximately 480,000 in West Kent and North East Sussex, and some specialist services to a considerably larger population.
