About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced Children's Social Worker with a strong background in handling complex child protection cases and working within statutory children's settings. As a Social Worker, you'll work closely with children, families, and other agencies to assess needs and provide appropriate interventions, promoting the welfare of children and making sound decisions in challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex children and family court cases and child protection investigations, providing timely intervention and support when necessary.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams, chair children's plans, and write clear and concise reports that meet deadlines.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families, assessing their needs and providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure their independence and safety.
  • Apply safeguarding principles to promote the welfare of children, using your expertise to make informed decisions in difficult situations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A Social Work qualification with HCPC registration and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field, with a proven track record of handling complex child protection cases.
  • Strong knowledge of social care theory, legislation, and safeguarding practices, with excellent report writing skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • The emotional resilience needed to manage the challenging nature of the role, using the support of managers and colleagues, as well as a valid DBS check (preferred).
  • Ability to safely transport children and families as needed, with flexibility to respond to emergencies and operational requirements.

  • An estimated salary of £45,000 - £48,000 per year, depending on experience.

Schedule & Location:

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with a location in Sawbridgeworth, London. Applicants must be able to reliably commute or be willing to relocate before starting work.
