Our client, a rapidly growing business with a strong presence in the UK, Ireland, and USA, is seeking an experienced Compliance & Payroll Manager to join their Finance and People teams.
The Role:- Manage the monthly payroll processing for over 850 employees across various payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to HMRC.
- Drive operational best practices to optimize payroll processing with the third-party provider, ensuring deadlines are met and risks are mitigated.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager to define and implement checks for payroll calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Stay up-to-date on all relevant legislation, suggesting process improvements and ensuring compliance with HMRC obligations.
- Manage the reconciliation of key payroll data, including payroll, benefits, and third-party providers, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Work closely with the People Team to administer and manage various pension schemes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Oversee the administration of company benefits schemes, including Cycle to Work, and maintain a customer service focus.
- Deliver accurate reconciliation and data analysis to support reporting, decision-making, and providing insights for key teams and stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a Payroll professional, with expertise in process and legislation around pay.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
- Strong knowledge of PAYE and understanding of HMRC benefits.
- Advanced Excel user with experience working with 3rd party payroll providers, pension providers, and external reward firms.
- Previous experience working in a retail-focused business.
