Senior Psychiatrist

About the Role

Cygnet Health Care is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Lodge Brighouse. This is a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men, providing a relaxed, calm, and homely environment for individuals to increase their independence through work, education, and social and leisure facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess referrals, undertake mental state examinations, and develop treatment plans.
• Participate in ward rounds, clinical audits, and risk assessments to ensure the highest standards of care.
• Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers hearings, and attend hearings as required.
• Participate in the 1 in 12 regional telephone on-call rota to provide 24/7 support.

Requirements

• Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified.
• Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis.
• Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
• A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients, and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
• Committed to continued professional development.
• Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent.
