Job Purpose

To drive LGV/HGV vehicles and deliver goods and services efficiently and considerately, ensuring the health and safety of self, the public, and other road users.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Check the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and record its condition using the system provided.
  • Care for the company's assets while in charge and ensure they are used according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Ensure the vehicle is securely loaded and restrained, and that the vehicle weights are within the legally permitted limits.
  • Drive as efficiently and productively as possible, within prevailing road traffic law.
  • Give due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public, and other road users at all times.
  • Represent the company in a professional and considerate manner at all times and report promptly any matters likely to affect the company's business prospects.
  • Assist in yard and other duties as may be required when not driving or taking legally required breaks.
  • Complete reports and documentations to time and as accurately as possible to assist in the management of the business.
Requirements for Role
  • Training on site on the day.
  • HGV Class 1 License.
  • Drivers CPC Card.
  • Valid Tachograph Card.
