Key Responsibilities:

  • Import Management: Control UK and international shipments to ensure timely delivery of orders, keeping all relevant teams informed of progress from order authorization to goods receipt.
  • Shipping and Logistics: Obtain shipping quotes to secure cost-effective rates for goods movement, ensuring compliance with market standards.
  • Customs Compliance: Complete customs documents accurately, adhering to HMRC legislation and regulations.
  • Inbound Forecasting and Stock Reports: Analyze and provide insights on inventory levels, stock reports, and purchase orders to inform business decisions.
  • Supply Chain Consolidation: Arrange and manage supply chain consolidations to optimize logistics and reduce costs.
  • Purchase Order Management: Update and control the progress of purchase orders through internal systems, email, and other communication tools.
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers to ensure orders are processed and delivered on time, meeting delivery targets.
  • Carrier Management: Liaise with carriers to ensure collections are made from suppliers, ensuring seamless logistics operations.
  • Invoice Reconciliation: Assist with supplier invoice reconciliation as needed, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Support to Merchandising and Buying Teams: Provide support to merchandising and buying teams with inbound-related queries, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Data Management: Log data systematically, accurately, and current through communication of accurate orderbook information to the wider business.
  • Freight Invoice Management: Sign off freight invoices, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Stock Returns and Waste Management: Arrange stock returns and support waste management EPR data reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Order Discrepancies and Investigations: Investigate order discrepancies, overs, under, damages, and support the Inbound goods in warehouse team with queries.
  • Meetings and Administration: Attend internal and external meetings, undertaking specific administrative tasks as agreed with the Line Manager.

Requirements:

  • International Import Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in international import management, including airfreight, seafreight, and road freight.
  • Online Retail/E-commerce Experience: Experience within online retail/e-commerce is highly advantageous.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Ability to communicate information effectively, in a clear and concise manner, and competent using Excel to record, analyze, and share information.
  • Time Management and Problem-Solving: Ability to work to deadlines, manage their own workload, and problem-solve/interpret data.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Must have a flexible attitude/approach towards work, with excellent time management skills.
  • Customs Procedures and Knowledge: Experience and understanding of customs procedures, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication (oral and written) and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively on multiple tasks.
  • Listening and Learning: Excellent listening skills and the ability to retain information, with a willingness to assist other team members and share learning experiences and opportunities.
