The Senior Product Owner will be accountable and responsible for understanding the requirements, business needs, and operational context from stakeholders.
They are accountable and responsible for collating, analysing, prioritising and translating these business requirements into technical requirements and units of work in Azure DevOps in the form of (Epics, Features and PBIs) that are implementable by the Data & Analytics Development Team.
As Senior Product Owner, you will work ahead of the Data Development team being onboarded to define an outline Product Backlog for the Data Foundation project and be accountable and responsible for ensuring that there is a steady flow of PBIs ready for their teams so that the teams can work at a consistent pace.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a clear understanding of stakeholder requirements and business needs.
- Collaborate with the Data & Analytics Development Team to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Define and prioritise the Product Backlog for the Data Foundation project.
- Ensure a steady flow of PBIs ready for the Data Development team.
Essential Experience
5 years + as a product owner in large scale data related projects on Azure based technologies.
Strong experience of backlog development and gathering feedback on the product in an agile environment, including gathering requirements from stakeholders and developing these into effective user stories, demonstrating delivered functionality and gathering feedback from stakeholders, and ensuring this feedback is incorporated into the product by developing the backlog further.
An excellent stakeholder manager with an engaging and nurturing ability in being available to multiple teams and stakeholders in order to answer questions and provide prioritisation of demands, ensuring that responses are given efficiently so as not to hold up delivery or development progress.
An excellent risk manager, capable of quickly identifying product-related risks, determining any suitable mitigations and agreeing these with dependent product areas, determining the impact to delivery and timelines of the risk and any mitigations proposed, and managing these decisions successfully and escalating rapidly as required.
