Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Coventry City Football Club. As a key member of our grounds team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Grounds Person in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the stadium professional playing pitch at CBS Arena.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Grounds Person in planning, implementing, and evaluating the professional pitch and related work.
  • Uphold ground standards by effectively managing all grounds activities to consistently achieve recognised standards and availability for the Club and stadium.
  • Ensure health and safety by managing and checking facilities, plant, buildings, and equipment to ensure safe working practices and compliance to health and safety standards.
  • Manage equipment, including maintenance, servicing, and storage.
  • Assist in the renovation of a hybrid and natural pitch using associated equipment.
  • Operate machinery for maintenance and renovation of grassed areas.
  • Gather and record information to develop trend data and analyse past usage.

Requirements

  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or above in green keeping and groundsmanship or equivalent.
  • Spraying certificates PA1, 2, and 6 (desirable).
  • Experience in all aspects of grounds maintenance, including hybrid, artificial surfaces, and horticulture.
  • Experience in the use of turf care equipment.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Experience in managing pitch lighting systems and irrigation systems.
  • Ability to manage teams, plan workloads, allocate duties, and monitor performance.
  • Good mechanical knowledge of equipment and ability to assist with routine maintenance.
