Leading Microbiologist

Job Description

Role Overview:

The Quality Assurance Department at GSK's Ware Pharma Supply Chain site is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of product manufacture are performed in a controlled manner, meeting international regulatory body and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.

The Microbiology Laboratory team works with Site Value Streams to ensure manufactured products are compliant and fit for purpose, including product analysis, laboratory investigations, and trend analysis of microbiological results.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure data accuracy according to company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
2. Verify the quality and accuracy of results for material to meet pre-defined acceptance criteria.
3. Ensure team structure and training are sufficient for critical activities.
4. Responsible for assigned Laboratory equipment and instrumentation or 5S standards.
5. Take a lead role in Continuous Improvement and support the Microbial Specialist with validation activities.
6. Responsible for the safety of self and staff within the Laboratory.
7. Troubleshooting activities and issues.
8. Collaborate across boundaries with key production stakeholders.

This role is suited for a motivated professional with strong experience in a GMP environment, possessing strong people skills and a proven ability to work in a team. You should have expertise in product flow and trouble-shooting, with a strong quality mindset and knowledge/experience of microbiology laboratory testing techniques.
