Job Title: Supervising Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team at Empower Family Group in Somerset, covering the Southwest Area.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, assessing, and monitoring the suitability of Foster Carers, providing regular supervision, and supporting Foster Carers to evidence their competence against training standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and assess Foster Carers, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Provide regular supervision to Foster Carers, monitoring their progress and providing guidance and support.
  • Support Foster Carers to evidence their competence against training standards, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews, ensuring they are completed within the required timescales.
  • Ensure Foster Carers have an accurate and up-to-date Foster Care Agreement.
  • Identify learning and development needs, providing support and guidance to Foster Carers.
  • Undertake initial visits and carer assessments, ensuring Foster Carers meet the required standards.
  • Attend meetings to support Foster Carers, children, and young people, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Assist in the delivery of training, ensuring Foster Carers receive the necessary support and guidance.
Requirements:
  • CQSW, Diploma in Social Work, or BA in Social Work (Essential)
  • Full UK driving license and access to a reliable car with business insurance (Essential)
  • Relevant Post-Qualifying Awards (Desirable)
