Job Role:

As a Care Worker with Dundee City Council, you will be based at various children's residential houses, working on an as-needed basis to enhance staffing levels. You will be contacted when work is available, with no obligation on the council to offer you work or for you to accept it.

Requirements:

You will need to have 3 National 4s or equivalent qualifications, as well as the ability to undertake HNC and SVQ3 or other relevant qualifications demonstrating academic achievement at SCQF Level 7 or above.

Responsibilities:

You will assist in creating and maintaining a high-quality care environment, ensuring the safety and security of children and young people. You will help them access services and information, promote effective communication, and support their growth and development.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for motivated individuals who want to make a positive impact on the lives of young people cared for by Dundee City Council. You will have experience working collaboratively with children, young people, and their families, as well as experience with close personal care and working with individuals with disabilities. You will need to be able to facilitate care plans, provide support and encouragement, and promote high standards of care.

What We Offer:

You will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale and undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment.
