We take pride in our expertise in nacelle design, manufacturing, integration, maintenance, and services. Our site in Burnley is one of our largest facilities, employing nearly 700 people and making us one of the largest private sector employers in the area.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our manufacturing engineering and tooling teams to support the site's footprint project. This involves detailed surveys of existing aerospace assembly and process equipment, developing new layout configurations, and managing the procurement, installation, and commissioning of infrastructure facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct feasibility studies and initial proposals for industrial needs
- Design and develop 3D and 2D layouts using CATIA and AUTOCAD
- Install and commission building services, including lighting, compressed air, electrical infrastructure, and vacuum services
- Provide point-of-use services to assembly lines, including vac, electricity, air, and data
- Collaborate with surveyors and professional bodies to ensure compliance with current legislation
- Work with suppliers to develop technical and commercial solutions
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including manufacturing engineers, tooling, and HSE teams
- Develop strategic plans for new facilities to align with future needs
- Create facility specifications for RFQ tenders and buy-off criteria
- Ensure critical geometry is recorded prior to fixture moves
- Plan and supervise the safe lifting and movement of assembly fixtures
- Manage contractors to Safran and site SHE standards, including UK CDM legislation
- Produce technical data to train and handover the asset to the operations team
- Support training and fault finding on installed facilities post-commissioning
- Collaborate with suppliers during installation and commissioning stages
- Evaluate risks and implement mitigation measures
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Facilities Engineer with:
- Time-served engineering experience
- Good working knowledge of building services
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design using CATIA
- Qualification in mechanical engineering (HNC or equivalent)
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in MS Office package
- Good interpersonal skills
- IOSH Working Safely certification
- Good working knowledge of building safety
- Six Sigma green belt certification
- Risk analysis techniques
- Good analytical skills
