Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our team in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance communication payload equipment for our satellites.

As a Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will work closely with our product responsible engineer and PCB layout engineers to generate design concepts and detailed circuit designs. You will be responsible for technically leading the electronic design of analogue and power circuitry, including power interfaces, from specification through to delivered hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing high-performance communication payload equipment for our satellites
  • Generating design concepts and detailed circuit designs for analogue and power circuits
  • Working closely with our product responsible engineer and PCB layout engineers
  • Technically leading the electronic design of analogue and power circuitry, including power interfaces

Requirements:

  • Experience of hardware design cycle, from requirements capture, through schematic design and design verification
  • Power electronic circuit design, including knowledge of active discreet protection circuits, magnetics, and DC-DC converters
  • Experience with Spice simulation software tools for detailed analysis
