Personnel Selection is working with a privately owned engineering company, seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team.

This company is a well-established SME with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and innovative engineering solutions. They have a diverse client base and have secured long-term contracts with prominent companies.

The successful candidate will work a standard 36.5 hour week, with opportunities for flexible working arrangements once fully trained. The company offers a range of benefits, including 23 days holiday, pension, and ongoing support for professional development.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in an accounts department and be looking to broaden their skills and knowledge. They will have a solid understanding of Excel and previous experience with accountancy software.

The role will involve:

  • Managing the purchase ledger, including matching, coding, payments, and reconciliation.
  • Posting daily cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Processing sales ledger invoices, receipt matching, and credit control.
  • Providing management information and reports.
  • Assisting with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and projects as required.

The company uses a range of software, including Sage Intacct, 123 ERP system, Filestream document management, and Excel spreadsheets. Training will be provided, but a strong understanding of Excel and previous experience with accountancy software is essential.
