Job Description

**Job Title:** Teaching Assistant - SEN Support

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in our school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), Speech & Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists to provide individualized support to pupils with autism and complex needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Support pupils with special educational needs in class, delivering small group interventions and one-to-one support.
  • Liaise with the SENCo, Speech & Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists to develop and implement strategies to enhance the wellbeing of children with autism.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, pupils, and colleagues to ensure a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and effective learning environment, promoting the inclusion and engagement of all pupils.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the whole school team to achieve the school's vision and values.

**Requirements:**

  • Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to remain calm and make correct choices in challenging situations.
  • Good English and maths skills, with the ability to use own initiative and work independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a strong commitment to the school's values and vision.
