About the Role:
As the Commissioning & Market Development Manager, you will be a key member of the Devon County Council team, responsible for driving transformation and change in the Adult Social Care function. You will work closely with external providers, stakeholders, and colleagues to achieve our vision for joint commissioning and improve care and support for adults with disabilities and older people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Council's transformation plan to improve care and support for adults with disabilities and older people, focusing on market management and strategic commissioning.
- Partner with key stakeholders, including the NHS, District Councils, and the voluntary and community sector, to achieve our vision for joint commissioning.
- Maximize resources and manage risks to ensure successful delivery of change.
- Manage a diverse team within the wider Commissioning team.
Requirements:
- A thorough understanding of commissioning and contracting mechanisms.
- A sound knowledge of business models in the independent sector.
- The ability to work closely with and advise Elected Members.
- Experience involving providers, service users, and carers.
