Crowders Nurseries, a part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Despatch Operative to join their team on a temporary 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be based onsite in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, and will be responsible for assisting with the picking and loading/unloading of customer orders during the busy season. The role involves working safely and accurately, and the ideal candidate will be fit and willing to join the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Despatch Manager, the Despatch Operative will be responsible for picking and packing container-grown plants and trees for customer orders.
  • Assemble orders and load them onto vehicles for delivery.
  • Ensure that products packed meet the required quality standards.
  • Accurately count products picked.
  • Stop and ask for help or advice if unsure about a task.
  • Understand and follow safe working practices.

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving license would be beneficial.
  • Will to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Able to commute reliably to Horncastle, LN9 5LZ.
  • Warehouse or vehicle loading experience is preferred.
  • Interested in learning and doing a good job.
  • Happy to follow instructions.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: £17,440 - £23,119 pro rata per annum, depending on age.
  • Pension contribution.
  • Flexible benefits.
