Senior Town Planner Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Town Planner to join our team at Penguin Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing complex planning applications and development proposals, providing expert advice on planning policies and environmental considerations, and engaging with key stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects, providing strategic planning advice, and guiding projects through the planning process. You will also mentor junior team members and ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex planning applications and appeals
  • Provide expert advice on planning policies, development frameworks, and environmental considerations
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, and the public
  • Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and impact assessments
  • Support and mentor junior planners within the team
  • Ensure compliance with planning regulations and policies
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Town Planning, ideally with MRTPI or equivalent accreditation
  • Strong knowledge of Scottish planning policy and legislation
  • Proven track record of managing projects and delivering results
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
