Job Title: Editorial Director - Global Gaming Industry

The Editorial Director leads our expert writing team to deliver the best game industry B2B website in the world. With a strong focus on integrity, credibility, and quality, this role is responsible for generating informative and up-to-date editorial content, crafting the site's content strategy and delivery, and preserving high standards for our industry audience.

\Responsibilities Include:\
  • \
  • Work with the writing team to select the right topics, approaches, structure, and content priorities for our audience.\
  • Track industry trends, potential disruptors, and align editorial content with that information to keep the audience informed.\
  • Manage and oversee the publishing schedule to maximize the team's time and focus to ensure our content is delivered timely and aligns with the priorities of the games industry.\
  • Lead and develop the writing team, which includes managing and procuring an external pool of writers and contributors and the subsequent freelance budget.\
  • Attend major industry conferences and press events, and manage the team's attendance, to ensure the site has access to major interviews and contacts.\
  • Edit copy written by others for accuracy, transparency, and structure.\
  • Master our content management system (CMS) and use it to prepare your own and others' content for publication.\
  • Implement an updated social media strategy to ensure the audience is receiving the right information in the right places for them.\
  • Partner with the GI Director in successful delivery of GamesIndustry.biz events and special projects.\

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of the games industry across a wide range of fields.\
  • Good understanding of corporate dealings, including how to interpret earnings calls, financial statements, implications of acquisitions, etc., and how to make that content relevant to our audience.\
  • Ability to build a network of contacts across the industry.\
  • Ability to edit other writers' copy to the highest standards of accuracy while under time pressure.\
  • Strong practical understanding of video game design and development.\
  • Passion for video games and gaming culture.\
  • Familiarity with the web publishing environment.\

Compensation and Benefits:

\

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, plus benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous paid time off.

\

This role will be required to go into our London office on a hybrid basis, at least 2-3 days per week.
