Job Title: Senior Paraplanner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Paraplanner to join our team at Ortus PSR. As a Senior Paraplanner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial planning services to our clients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in paraplanning, with a proven track record of delivering excellent results in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for providing support to our financial planners, reviewing client needs, researching solutions, and writing compliant and suitable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to financial planners in completing non-client facing tasks, including the preparation and administration of recommendations.
  • Review client information from fact finds, meeting notes, and existing records to gain a good understanding of the client profile, needs, and objectives.
  • Undertake relevant research and gather supporting documentation and application paperwork for the advice.
  • Construct high-quality financial plans for clients in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Ensure client files contain all required documentation to demonstrate compliance and suitability of advice.
  • Prepare lifetime cashflow modelling to develop the client's holistic financial plan.
  • Handle client queries where required.
  • Work closely with and provide support to the relevant financial planners and other members of the paraplanning team.
Requirements
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and promote a positive working environment and culture.
  • Good organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in navigating and utilising financial planning software and tools/reporting on common platform providers.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams etc).
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Good product and solutions knowledge from across the market to include but not limited to pensions, investments (in particular, model portfolios as a core solution for clients), inheritance tax planning, and protection.
  • A good understanding of UK financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in paraplanning of at least two years.
  • Qualified to level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
