At Motor Insurers' Bureau, our mission is to make roads safer by getting uninsured and hit-and-run drivers off our roads. We work in partnership with the Police, Insurers, and Government to achieve this goal. Until we succeed, we're here to compensate victims quickly, fairly, and compassionately.

Last year, we helped over 42,000 people struck by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers and paid over £400 million in compensation to support victims rebuild their lives.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with IS activities to ensure that assets (hosts, networks, systems, applications, and information) are secure during operations, aiming to reduce or eradicate any technical control weakness that could lead to a security incident.
Key Outputs
  1. Overall responsibility for Information Security Operations (Monitoring, vulnerability management, and Incident response) within Motor Insurers' Bureau as part of the CISO organisation.
  2. Responsible for all areas of Security Operations, including Alerting & Monitoring, Management of a suite of security tools such as vulnerability management, Information Protections, Email & internet security, and Threat intelligence.
  3. Leading and developing a high-performing Information Security Operations team.
  4. Developing and optimising the security control suite to minimise risk and maximise value.
  5. Input into the information security policy development process.
  6. Input into security training and awareness programmes.
  7. Ensuring that information security controls map to risk appetite and requirements.
  8. Advanced security qualifications such as CISSP, GIAC, as well as vendor-specific training and or qualifications for end-point and networking security solutions.
  9. Extensive technical knowledge and background in information Security operations.
  10. Experience and understanding of sound networking principles.
  11. Experience of designing, implementing, managing, and operating off-the-shelf and bespoke security tooling such as anti-virus, data loss prevention, web application firewalls, firewalls, VPN, etc.
