Job Title: Apprentice Civil Engineer

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Apprentice Civil Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our consultancy, you will play a crucial role in establishing our civil team and contributing to the delivery of commercial, domestic, and industrial engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of design for a portfolio of projects and assets;
  • Coordinate detailed design drawings and prepare specifications for tender and construction purposes;
  • Assist in delivering high-quality solutions across various sectors for clients and project stakeholders;
  • Assist in managing all the team's projects, resources, and making key commercial decisions on spend to accommodate a wide range of projects;
  • Use a range of computer software to develop detailed designs;
  • Interact with clients and various professionals, including architects and subcontractors;
  • Manage budgets and project resources;
  • Ensure that projects comply with legal requirements, especially in terms of health and safety;
  • Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of projects;
  • Ensure projects run smoothly and that structures are completed within budget and on time.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English;
  • Possession of a current UK driving licence;
  • Essential experience in civil engineering design of infrastructure and drainage;
  • Some desirable experience in structural design with core materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and timber;
  • High level of proficiency with AutoCAD, including experience with Civils3D;
  • Experience with modelling packages such as Tekla Tedds & Structural Designer, and Masterseries would be beneficial;
  • Projecting a professional image to clients and colleagues;
  • Willingness to learn new processes and software, as well as take on additional tasks when needed.
