The Role
We are looking for a Senior High Voltage Specialist to join our team in the Nuclear & Power Division. As a Senior/Principal Electrical / System Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering innovative consultancy advice to support our clients through the completion of safety assessments, engineering/design substantiation and operational support. This role involves working in expanding group supporting power generation, nuclear new build and decommissioning markets, helping solve a wide variety of interesting problems for our clients during a significant period of growth, developing and mentoring teams of engineers to further support our growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing specialist consultancy advice on power station high voltage apparatus.
  • Operational & Maintenance technical support including trouble-shooting, condition assessment, failure investigation, performance optimisation, legislative compliance and process safety to operational nuclear, thermal and renewable power generation sites.
  • Specification of plant and equipment to achieve process objectives.
  • Preparation of technical guidance documents and engineering standards for ongoing asset management.
  • Plant assessments and life-extension exercises to assist Clients with investment decision making processes.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications & experience, relevant industry experience, technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgement and with experience in using fundamental engineering skills, record of supporting technically challenging projects, excellent numeracy, written and verbal communication skills with ability to present arguments both verbally and written, motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality, awareness of their own technical limitations and using the help and support of others to deliver, flexible approach as required for site work on new and existing power plants, ability to manage small site teams and ability to work on own and as part of a team, competent commercial awareness and ability to positively influence key decision-makers in Client organisations to gain new revenue streams (Desirable), and Membership of IET and Chartered Engineer status (Desirable). The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on location.
