About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Skylight Psychologist in our West London service based in Brent. As part of a wider team of Clinical Psychologists in Crisis, you will be an integral part of the local Skylight team, leading on psychologically informed practice and delivery of psychological services.
This role brings a real opportunity to be creative and flexible in our approach to working psychologically with people who face multiple disadvantages, and to support the staff teams via training and reflective practice. There are opportunities to provide direct support as well as working extensively with local teams and other parts of the organisation to influence policy and practice developments.
We are looking for someone with post qualification experience of working within complex systems and you may have direct experience of working with people who experience homelessness. As we have grown as a service, the team is also able to support more newly qualified Psychologists via our preceptorship program, and so we are pleased to also offer this as a development post.
The wider team of Psychologists have regular opportunities to meet and connect and for professional development. There is a commitment towards social justice, to being advocates for those we work with and for breaking down the systemic barriers that exclude those who need most support. This is a highly rewarding role at a time where there is scope for development in our service and at the launch of the new ten year strategy within Crisis.
About the Job
This role will be based within the nominated Crisis Skylight and integrated with the wider team and client services in order to promote and support the implementation of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs).
You will lead reflective practice groups for staff working within the Crisis skylight
You will provide training and support staff to work in a trauma informed and psychologically informed way.
You will formulate and reformulate in collaboration with members/colleagues, taking into account socio-economic/political factors, systems and member's experiences of homelessness, using a range of psychological models and use these to plan psychological support
You will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy for clients and where appropriate will support access to relevant parts of the wider mental health system or work collaboratively with them.
You will undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual members and provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management
You will use your research and evaluation skills and experience to demonstrate and improve the effectiveness of our services.
You will be supported to maintain up to date CPD and build your specialism within the sector, and you will have access to high quality clinical and professional supervision.
