Job Description

This role involves working in a sensitive defence contract environment to protect people and assets from injury and loss caused by fire or accident.

As a Defence Contract Fire Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the protection of personnel and assets. This includes maintaining a level of personal fitness necessary to carry out the duties of the role and passing a medical exam.

The job requires working in confined spaces, at heights, and in the dark, wearing breathing apparatus. You will also need to work outdoors and may be required to perform tasks in challenging environments.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that all hot work is conducted in accordance with the Hot Work Permit requirements.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of areas, neighbouring areas, and behind bulkheads prior to commencement of any hot work.
  • Liaising with all trades to ensure safe execution of fire watch duties.
Requirements
  • A right to work in the UK
  • A 5-year checkable work history
  • A British passport held for the past 5 years
  • Good team player skills
  • First Aid at Work certification
  • Able to work independently after appropriate training
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety at work
  • Good communication skills
