Job Description

As an apprentice emergency gas responder, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to reported gas emergencies in a safe and efficient manner
  • Installing and maintaining gas networks
  • Promoting health and safety in gas service/repair activities
  • Achieving the Gas Network Craftsperson standard (ST0205)
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs in Maths, English and a Science (Grades A – C / 9 – 4)
  • A full clean Manual UK Driving License – or actively working towards a full driving license
  • Comfortable with technology (for using field-based systems)
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £18,000 - £22,000 per annum, plus bonus on completion of Apprenticeship. Our comprehensive training programme includes a structured blend of on-job and college-based specialist technical training. We provide travel and accommodation arrangements for away-from-home locations. Our current and previous apprentices will also provide support and guidance throughout your journey.

Upon completion of your apprenticeship, you will achieve the Gas Network Craftsperson standard (ST0205), supporting your career progression at SGN. You will also contribute to pioneering research and development in the journey toward a net-zero energy system.
