We are seeking a Strategic Governance Expert to join our Board of Directors at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will bring independence of thought and constructive challenge to our strategy, oversee the implementation of national strategies and regulatory compliance, and work collaboratively with our Council of Governors.

As a Trust Board Non-Executive Member, you will be involved in the work of our Trust Committees and contribute to the effective governance and diversity of our Board.

Our Trust has much work to do to improve and respond to the findings of our recent CQC inspection report. We are looking for individuals who will provide strategic input and ensure that we have robust systems of risk management in place.

Key responsibilities will include providing an independent view on our Trust's strategy, supporting the Board of Directors, and working collaboratively with our Council of Governors and Trust Committees.

The remuneration for this position is £15,000 per annum, with a time commitment of around 4-5 days per month.

Candidates must provide independence of thought and constructive challenge as well as support executives and demonstrate commitment to the enduring values of the NHS.
