Job Description

Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Assistant to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.

About the Role:

  • This position involves supporting the Legal Accounts Manager/Team Leader in ensuring smooth operations and compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong IT skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process incoming post and mail, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely delivery.
  2. Assist with bank reconciliations, posting transactions to ledgers, and setup/bank payments.
  3. Bank cheques and cash as required, adhering to strict banking protocols.
  4. Deal directly with clients when receiving payment by cash, credit card, or cheque, providing exceptional customer service.
  5. Process Legal Aid claims and remittance advices (where applicable), ensuring seamless administration.
  6. Provide coverage for the Legal Accounts Team Leader as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  7. Maintain current knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, undertaking relevant training to ensure up-to-date understanding.
  8. Undertake identified training courses from the People and Culture Department, Group Head of Legal Accounts, and external providers, enhancing professional development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a legal finance department is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • A commitment to delivering a professional service to the highest standards is paramount.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Able to work accurately under pressure, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
