Job Title: Principal Ecologist

We are seeking an experienced Principal Ecologist to join our team at CleanTech Talent. As a key member of our environmental consultancy, you will be responsible for leading ecological surveys, analyzing results, and providing technical advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects, budgets, and cash flow, and provide advice to clients.
  • Hold responsibility for technical quality and approval of project deliverables.
  • Undertake ecological surveys and analyze results of field surveys.
  • Undertake performance management of assigned team members.
  • Provide training and mentoring to staff.
  • Design research projects and contribute to the development of best practice with respect to training and survey standards.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in an ecological or environmental consultancy, with a proven track record of technical delivery and team leadership.
  • A relevant degree in an environmental discipline.
  • UK driving license.
  • Commercial and project management skills.
  • Able to work hybrid/remote in one of our multiple office locations across Scotland.
  • A passion for nature and a commitment to collaboration.

What We Offer:

  • Salary up to £54,000 depending on experience and level.
  • 35 hours working week with flexible start and finish times.

  • Hybrid working – a flexible 3 days in the office or onsite and 2 remote.
  • 20 days annual leave plus 11 bank holidays, of which a proportion can be used flexibly and not on set bank holiday days.
  • Training allowance annually – bespoke to you and your development needs – internal and external resources.
  • Company Pension contribution – 5-8%.
  • Flexible weekly working hours promoting work-life balance – 35 hours p/w.
