Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to join our SLT Clinical Leadership Team. This role involves co-leading special schools speech and language therapy and school-aged dysphagia teams, working closely with local authorities and parent carer networks.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an experienced speech and language therapist to lead and manage a team of professionals, providing clinical supervision and line management to ensure high-quality services for children and young people with complex needs.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with children with speech, language, and communication difficulties in special schools settings, as well as postgraduate paediatric dysphagia experience, including non-oral feeding.

A key aspect of this role is partnership working, collaborating with LA colleagues to embed new ways of working and deliver performance KPIs. The ability to work effectively with parents and other professionals, particularly education staff, is also essential.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of speech and language therapists, providing clinical supervision and line management.
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities and parent carer networks to develop and implement strategies that meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with education staff, ensuring effective partnerships that support the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Contribute to service development projects, driving improvements in quality and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • First degree and License to Practice from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
  • Current registered membership of HCPC and requirement for professional indemnity insurance if not a member of RCSLT.
  • Educated to modules at Master's level or equivalent in SLT discipline or equivalent competency at postgraduate diploma/training and experience.
  • Extensive experience working with children with speech, language, and communication difficulties in special schools settings.
  • Postgraduate paediatric dysphagia experience, including non-oral feeding.
  • Experience of partnership working, particularly with LA colleagues to embed new ways of working and deliver performance KPIs.
  • Ability to work effectively with parents and other professionals, particularly education staff.
Salary and Benefits

An estimated salary range for this position is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including agile working options, regular 1:1 supervision and management support, and access to training and development opportunities.
