We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our well-established contractor in the heart of Devon. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a vital role in supporting the business's financial functions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

">
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) for materials, labor, and other project costs.
  • Assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor and track project costs, including variations, change orders, and progress payments, to ensure financial control and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the project team to review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in the valuation of works and certification of payments to subcontractors in accordance with contractual agreements and project milestones.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to assess progress, quality, and compliance with specifications, identifying any potential issues or variations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quantity surveying activities, including contracts, correspondence, and financial reports.

**Requirements:**

  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with quantity surveying software and tools.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • A relevant driving license.

**Salary Estimate:** £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
