Job Summary

Alecto Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fire and Security Small Works Engineer to join a reputable and established fire and security company based in the West Midlands area. The company provides top-quality services to both commercial and residential clients across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Small Works / Installations Team on small projects from inception through to completion on CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Liaise with the Lead Engineer on all troublesome sites, including any critical issues.
  • Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your region when demand requires.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers and schedulers when planning site visits.
  • Utilise all customer portals as directed by your Lead Engineer in accordance with the customer requirements.
  • Maintain your stock levels with support from the Stores team.
  • Attend training sessions as and when required.
  • Attend Engineering team meetings as and when required.
  • Identify any personal training and development needs to help you provide the best possible customer service.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a good understanding of fire and security systems.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and practical skills in installation, maintenance, servicing and commissioning of security systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel across the Birmingham area.
Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications in fire and security engineering or equivalent.
  • CSCS/ECS card preferred.
