We're The Visual Unit, a retail branding agency crafting experiential retail environments. As a result of continuing growth, a new position has arisen within our company for a CAD / Architectural Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed and accurate technical drawings and 3D models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for bespoke projects, ensuring they align with client specifications and are suitable for construction purposes.
  • Work closely with the Senior Designer and Project Managers, as well as TVU's build and production teams to enable seamless transition from design to construction, providing technical support and ongoing communications during the whole process.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on drafted work to guarantee accuracy, adherence to specifications, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technological advancements, materials, and construction techniques to incorporate innovative ideas into projects.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project requirements and provide on-site support during the construction phase.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.

Requirements:

  • A diploma or degree in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Drafting, Engineering, or a related field is expected.
  • Experience as a CAD/Architectural Technician or Draughtsperson, especially in the retail design and merchandising industry, will be an advantage.
  • Experience of Rhino and/or SketchUp software would be an advantage.
