We are seeking an experienced Middleware Technical Operations Specialist to join our team, supporting major customers and delivering proactive management and maintenance under BAU of core technologies.

This opportunity can be based in Hatfield, Nottingham, or Milton Keynes, with a focus on ensuring contracted service availability and meeting service level agreements.

The Middleware Technical Operations service is backed by service level agreements and follows management principles based on ITIL best practice, ensuring consistent delivery across all technologies and from each service location.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Designing, developing, and deploying Middleware technologies
  2. Offering solutions and workarounds to incidents and problems
  3. Working to SLAs and deadlines
  4. Review of services and application delivery
  5. Prioritizing and managing several tasks at a single time
  6. Establishing a good working relationship with wider teams and customers
  7. Keeping up to date with advancements in technology
  8. Providing On-Call Out of Hours Support
  9. Willingness to travel
  10. Document writing and process creation
  11. Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week attendance in the office
Requirements
  1. Microsoft Windows Server
  2. Linux e.g. RHEL/AIX
  3. Experience of working with NetIQ eDirectory / Access Manager
  4. Support of LDAP infrastructure
  5. Experience of supporting GlobalScape EFT
  6. Experience of supporting WebLogic
  7. Experience of supporting file transferring applications
  8. Experience of supporting MoveIT
  9. Installation of Middleware components
  10. Support of Middleware components
Desirable Knowledge, Key Skills, and Critical Success Factors
  1. Self-Driven Individual with the capability to break out of their comfort zone and technology area
  2. Knowledge/Understanding of good information security practice from a technical and management perspective
  3. Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL v4/3, ISO 20000, and ISO27000
  4. Excellent communication skills at all levels
  5. Excellent decision-making/problem-solving skills
  6. Strong planning and organisation skills
  7. Pearl/BASH scripting and coding experience
  8. Able to pass standard vetting
