About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Team Leader to join our R&D team at Blackstar Amplification Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled software developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software developers, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Manage the development of scalable firmware and software using a structured, process-driven approach.
  • Plan and communicate project milestones to stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Maintain best practices within the software team, ensuring adherence to technical journals, research, and company QMS processes.
  • Administer the Sprint process for the software team, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Support the delivery of product firmware and software, from design brief to full production, including testing and verification.
  • Assist with project planning, scoping, and problem-solving.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial software environment.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum/Sprint planning principles.
  • Strong people management skills, with proven experience as a formal line manager.
  • Experience with project ownership and coordination, from conception to completion.
  • Methodical approach, with a structured mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
  • Ability to manage working time effectively and prioritize assignments appropriately.
  • Enthusiasm, commitment, and dependability.
