Project Overview

This project, led by Prof. Charlie Wang, aims to develop a deformable mannequin for customized garment production using soft robotic systems. The research will be conducted in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at The University of Manchester, funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Job Responsibilities

The Research Associate will work on simulation technology for controllable deformation and geometric optimization of chamber design. Additionally, they will assist another Research Associate in designing and fabricating mannequins. The ideal candidate should have a BEng/MSc/PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics, with a strong research record in computational design, advanced manufacturing, geometric modeling, or robotics. Proficiency in C++ programming and mathematics formulation is required.
