Project Accountant Job Description

Reed Finance is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the financial aspects and strategic decision-making of projects for our globally recognized client.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and experience with project accounting and analysis. This role will initially be on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract, with a high likelihood of being made permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the financial health of projects by monitoring budgets, tracking expenses, and forecasting future costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare financial reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Implement financial controls and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, conduct variance analysis, and provide insights for performance improvement.
Requirements:
  • A full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in project accounting and financial modeling.
  • A robust understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of communicating complex financial information in a clear manner.
