Clinical Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Orthoptist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a wide and complex paediatric clinical caseload, providing Orthoptic services as an autonomous practitioner, and undertaking clinical audit and continuing professional development.
The successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of clinical orthoptics, including specialist paediatric orthoptics, and will be able to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written skills to facilitate good communication and maintain patient confidentiality.
This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified or qualified Orthoptists to gain experience and develop their skills in a forward-thinking and progressive ophthalmology department.
Main Responsibilities- To work within the multi-disciplinary team, managing a wide and complex paediatric clinical caseload.
- To provide Orthoptic services as an autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients referred to the Orthoptic departments.
- To undertake clinical audit and take responsibility for own continuing professional development.
