Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Exeter or Swindon

Job Type: Contract, 7 months

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team in Exeter or Swindon. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing costs, identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and providing support to senior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all costs related to infrastructure projects, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  2. Provide support to senior members of the team in delivering commercial duties, including procuring and managing supply chain.
  3. Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities.
  4. Assist with commercial relationships to internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Support the Gated Business Lifecycle process.
  6. Use the company's ERP System and BMS systems.
  7. Maintain a Personal Development Plan.

Requirements:

  1. Currently have or working towards a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  2. Previous experience working in a similar QS position, preferably in reactive framework.
  3. Experience of infrastructure projects with resilience and determination to succeed.
  4. Ability to work independently.

Desirable:

  1. Previous experience of managing costs and maximising value.
  2. Previous experience of financial and commercial control within a project.
  3. Experience of working as part of commercial teams.
  4. Membership of or working towards RICS (preferred).
  5. Proven record of working to deadlines, working efficiently and to a high standard.
