Job Description

Are you an experienced Overhead Line Engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for designing electrical infrastructure? We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Design Engineer to join our team at Keltbray.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage outsourced design activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist with tender reviews to ensure all requirements are met and specifications are adhered to.
  • Plan and manage workload to meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure quality and standards are met.
  • Take responsibility for design deliverables and ensure they meet expected quality and KPI targets.
  • Undertake and review design studies, technical documents, drawings, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Attend site visits and meetings as required to ensure design work is delivered on-time and to quality standards.
  • Drive safety by design and contribute to CDM requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and report on performance against KPIs for on-time delivery, requirements management, and right-first-time delivery.
Requirements
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant field is a minimum requirement.
  • IEng or CEng chartership status is desirable.
  • Proficient in PLS design software and experience in using CAD tools is an advantage.
  • 8+ years' experience in OHL design is required.
  • Good understanding of CDM 2015 and T&D interfaces such as HV Plant Cable design, Civil design is essential.
  • Strong written, verbal, and communication skills are required.
  • IT literate in MS office applications and ability to solve problems within a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
