Job Overview

The role of a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting is to provide support to teachers and pupils in achieving academic success. This position requires strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for education.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team at Canon Burrows C of E Primary School in Ashton-Under-Lyne. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

This is a fixed-term contract until August 2025, working 5 hours per week during term time only. The salary for this position is £30,000 per annum, which reflects the level of expertise and experience required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting teachers in the classroom to ensure effective lesson delivery and student engagement.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of educational programs that promote academic excellence and social growth.
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes respect for all individuals.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and information sharing.

Requirements
  • A proven track record of supporting teaching and learning activities in a primary school setting.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to adapt to changing curriculum requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build rapport with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
