Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Bristol. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for leading a team of accountants, providing financial reporting services, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
About the Role- Lead a team providing general accounting, transactional accounting, and financial reporting services
- Ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to address risk and maintain compliance with accounting policies
- Responsible for local statutory reporting and financial statement delivery, working effectively with auditors to proactively plan audits and satisfactorily address potential audit concerns.
- Support intercompany billing processes, including loaned labor processing, indirect expense transfers, and reconciliation of intercompany activity
- Manage monthly close activities including journal entry and account reconciliation review, quarterly and annual schedules, and financial analytics
- Ensure revenue recognition is appropriately recognized, documenting revenue recognition analysis as well as confirming appropriate controls in place to ensure accuracy of reported program revenue
- Coordinate work during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Liaise with business unit leadership and support personnel
- Create and/or updates process documentation including Sarbanes Oxley narrative documents
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller who is passionate about delivering exceptional results. The ideal candidate will have a recognized accounting qualification (ACMA, ACCA, etc.), significant post-qualified experience, and a proven track record of leading a team in a fast-paced close process.
