About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Animal Husbandry Specialist to join our team at Charles River. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of animals in our care, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Perform routine husbandry tasks, including cleaning cages, feeding, and watering animals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of animal care procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve high-quality animal care and research outcomes.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience in animal science, biology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in animal care or laboratory settings is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with occasional bending and stooping required.
  • Reliable means of transportation to and from work.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £38,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
