Senior Tax Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Eastleigh on a permanent, part-time basis. This role offers flexible working hours with a weekly office presence required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the submission of Corporation Tax computations and returns, VAT returns, and returns to HMRC in compliance with relevant legislation and within time limits.
  • Ensure that tax disclosures within the year-end accounts are calculated in accordance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.
  • Assist Payroll and HR with employment tax matters as required.
  • Maintain arrangements for documentation, review, and sign-off of appropriate controls for tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with Senior Accounting Officer legislation.
  • Develop and manage direct reports to this role.
  • Build and maintain relationships with HMRC, including regular written and face-to-face contact.
Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively to people at all levels.
  • A broad understanding of CT, VAT, and IPT, with commercial awareness of the business environment.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate, and interpret various financial data, identifying inconsistencies.
  • ACA, ATT qualification, preferably with post-qualification experience.
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with directors, managers, external parties, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Excel.
