About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our kitchen team as a Hospitality and Events Chef on a flexible, as-and-when-required basis.

The successful candidate will deliver a broad range of hospitality, events, and dining services across campus in support of internal and corporate business, ensuring that the agreed, highest attainable standards for hospitality and service are consistently delivered.

The role will involve supporting the café/restaurant services as required across various venues across the department, including Manchester Museum, Whitworth Art Gallery, and the Alliance Manchester Business School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality hospitality, events, and dining services across campus
  • Support the café/restaurant services as required across various venues
  • Work with the Head Chef and senior colleagues to prepare and deliver services across the department
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for customers
  • Support planned event deliveries to agreed timings and standards
  • Work with front-of-house colleagues to ensure an efficient service
Requirements

The successful applicant will have a Professional Cookery Qualification to (minimum) City and Guilds 706/2 and relevant technical culinary skills gained within a similar environment.

They will also have a working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, including up to-date Food Safety and Allergen Management, as well as a good interpersonal team attitude and self-motivation.

Good verbal and written communication skills, a natural positive attitude towards a busy/pressurized environment, and the ability to work flexibly across the week are essential for this role.
