Early Years Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to join our Reception class team at St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the delivery of activities that enhance children's social and educational development, under the supervision of qualified teachers.
  • Support children's personal needs, including assisting with meal times and ensuring their overall wellbeing.
  • Contribute to assessment procedures to monitor children's progress and ensure satisfactory outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in EYFS and/or nursery settings.
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
  • High expectations of pupil achievement, attainment, and behaviour.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience, including GCSE Maths and English.

This is a temporary position initially until July 2024, with a view to being made permanent thereafter. The role is 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday, term time only. We encourage applicants to visit the school to gain a better understanding of our community and values.
