In this role as a Quality Inspector at Thorlabs, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in our manufacturing process. You will work closely with all departments on continuous improvement initiatives based on data collected from supplier and customer issues. This includes processing incoming and outgoing RMA shipments, providing measurement services, operating manual measuring equipment, assisting in developing SOPs and methodologies, liaising with production team leaders, escalating quality process related concerns, maintaining effective communication with suppliers and customers, coordinating with internal and external RMA and Quality teams, carrying out administrative tasks, and assisting with stock control in the RMA and Q1 warehouses.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of metrology and previous use of measuring tools and equipment, an understanding of software and measurement systems, detailed-oriented with the ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation, computer literate with experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, able to multitask, time manage and work independently, able to identify and resolve problems quickly, adhering to core values and driven positive attitude, ability to take initiatives, with a positive approach to continuous improvement activities, receptive to new challenges and expanding current knowledge, quick learner, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
