At Amazon, we're revolutionizing the way people live and work. As a Network Architect for Global Infrastructure, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and operating one of the world's largest and most complex networks.

About the Role

We're seeking highly motivated professionals to help us deliver the highest standards of safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Your expertise will be instrumental in scaling our existing network, designing new topologies, deploying these topologies, and automating activities where possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and operate our global DWDM networks to meet the demands of our customers.
  • Drive scalability initiatives to ensure our DWDM designs can handle increasing customer demand.
  • Create processes to operate and build our DWDM network efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other Networking departments on new design projects.
  • Ensure the DWDM network adheres to defined network standards.
  • Review and implement changes to the DWDM network as needed.
  • Lead operational excellence projects to drive improvements in DWDM network quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions to maintain network performance.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 6+ years' experience with large DWDM network rollout and operations, including optical network technologies.
  • 3+ years' experience with optical planning and modeling tools.
  • 1+ year of professional development experience with Python or similar tools for network automation scripting.
