Robert Walters is supporting a leading logistics business in the recruitment of a Health and Safety Manager to join their team. This role is integral to the efficient business and operational management of the site, with a focus on embedding health and safety policies and procedures across the contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring safety-related systems, promoting an understanding that effective management of health and safety is an integral part of efficient business operations.

Key responsibilities include:

* Championing health and safety awareness across the site
* Coordinating and monitoring safety-related processes including risk assessment, training, accident investigation, and workplace safety audits
* Maintaining the Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) plan and supporting delivery of all associated actions
* Advising management on health & safety legislation, safe methods of working, prevention of hazards to health, and the suitability of plant, protective equipment, and control measures

The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience from a similar role within a logistics environment, holding at least a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills are essential, as well as organisational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising on quality or efficiency. Good IT and data analysis skills are also required.
